The Cultural Activities Center, in Temple, Texas, believes in the power of creation! We want to enrich the lives of all Central Texas residents by inspiring exploration, involvement, and enjoyment in the arts. The CAC is a community funded not-for-profit arts center with the goal of encouraging and cooperating with other area arts institutions, supporting the arts in education, and providing culturally enriching programs. We especially want kids to realize early that we are all artists, that every action of our day has the potential to be art, and that each of us possess the raw tools to make this a reality using our own natural creative abilities. The CAC gives the community a facility in which to dance, to perform, to play games, to make music, to make art, develop talent, teach technique, share ideas, and learn from other creators and performers ways to express life's richness, in all of its disciplines and freedoms, sorrows and joys, ugliness and beauty. We each have the power to recreate ourselves and change our lives and our world for the good of all.
Using a fully equipped theater with technical support, 4 art studios, 4 lovely art galleries, and 4 beautiful meeting rooms for parties and events, the CAC hosts professional touring shows, concerts with world class musicians, community staged productions, gallery exhibits, classes and workshops, summer arts camps, and we provide a home to organizations like the Central Texas Orchestral Society, Central Texas Film Society, and The Wildflower Guild Belles and Escorts. The CAC celebrates all of the arts and humanities as an essential exercise of life and liberty, and encourages participation by people of all ages, interests, and backgrounds.
